This week, I listened to the On Being with Krista Tippett | Self-Care as Generational Healing feat. Alex Elle. This podcast was initially a part of a trio of podcasts that I planned on listening to. However, after listening to the conversation. I decided to shift gears and pick up Alex Elle's book After The Rain. This book spoke volumes to me. It opened my eyes to many of the Generational Curses within my family that need to be addressed before inadvertently passing them on to my children.

The second book that I read this week that wasn't on the list was The Practicing Mind by Thomas M. Sterner; this book coupled well with After The Rain. The Practicing Mind explores the idea of present-moment awareness and how to apply it in everyday life.

Though I am still exploring the concepts within both books, they have helped me slow down in the past week, reflect, and redirect my energy and focus to better prepare to show up for myself, my family, and those around me.

In all, I have committed myself to incorporate these values into my daily life to cultivate a more fulfilling way of being for myself and my family. I want to raise a healthy, prosperous, and happy family; however, I have realized that I need to do a multitude of inner work within myself before I can effectively instill such values within my family.
