October 2023 Weekly Check-In #04

This week has been short of a disaster. I haven't been feeling the best physically; the good thing is I am still taking the steps needed to improve the pain, so I am excited for this flare-up to settle. I have also been struggling with severe pain this week, and it's hindered my ability to function optimally, so I am also working on alleviating that discomfort.

I met with my life coach this week and completed my Personal Mission Statement / My Why. I believe my motivation for it came from listening to my supervisor talk about "Trading Money for Time" and how, in life, that is how we make a living. That didn't sit right with me, especially since I have been working since I was 15 years old cleaning houses with my mom, and I will tell you now, the thousands of hours that I put in to barely get by... I'm not getting that time back; it has left a blemish in many of my Life Areas.

When I was listening to them talk, the only thing I could think to myself was trading my time for money would not be the basis of my financial well-being, and IF it were, then it wouldn't be for others, but for myself.

So, my husband and I have begun prioritizing more daily hours toward our side hustle(s) to help nurture our goals of paying off debts, becoming homeowners, and increasing our net worth.

My Personal Statement

I am the author of my own destiny. I hold the cards, and I determine how they are played. Through my traditions, drive, and piqued curiosity, I am the arbiter of my own success. With that, my reason for waking up in the morning is to achieve greatness through creativity, inspiration, and personal autonomy so that I have the tools to achieve my goals and a wealth of knowledge to pass on to all who will receive it.

My Goal for Next Week

  • To proactively apply my Personal Statement to my Life Areas and reevaluate my life area goals with my Personal Statement in Mind.
