Since I can remember, writing has always been a large part of my life. Be it in storytelling, notetaking, essay writing, you name it, I have always managed to find joy in writing, especially by hand. It is for this reason why I have decided to incorporate journaling back into my daily schedule. There was once a time where journaling at the start of my day came as second nature. However, life happened, and things began to change. Now that I have begun to find some normalcy in life. I thought it only natural to bring journaling back into the equation.
To get myself started on this path. I am going to dedicate a portion of my night routine to reflect and document my day. Giving myself flowers where they are deserved and looking for areas of opportunity I can improve upon. Generally speaking, one of my many goals in life is to have a happy and fulfilling life. It is to make sure that my family and those close to me have the things they need to be successful and live prosperous and full lives.
However, whenever I think of this goal, I am constantly reminded of the advice given on an airplane to "Put the mask on yourself first". I am also reminded of a saying that my grandmother would often say... "How can I help you when I can't even help myself". Though I do not question my capabilities as an individual, I am constantly looking for ways to improve and positively support my children and family.
With that, I plan to begin incorporating a more in-depth personal reflection into my nightly routine to better assist me in manifesting my goals in preparation to perform at my best. In this way, I can better set an example for those closest to me and for myself. Selfcare and personal development, like learning, is a lifelong commitment that I am dedicating to pursuing and obtaining for the long hall.
“Journal writing, when it becomes a ritual for transformation, is not only life-changing but life-expanding.”
